In plain English

What you can do · what you can't · in 30 seconds.

The full legal text is below — but if you only have a minute, here are the things most people actually want to know.

What we promise

  • Use LinguaDig for personal English learning and exam preparation.
  • Create unlimited flashcards, essays, and recordings on any plan — quotas only apply to AI-generated practice (e.g. exam attempts).
  • Cancel your subscription any time from the Subscription page; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Export your data, your flashcards, and an Anki deck whenever you want.
  • Share your reading passages, writing submissions, or speaking attempts via opt-in public links you can revoke any time.

What we never do

  • No sharing accounts. One subscription = one person.
  • No reverse engineering, scraping at scale, or attempting to overwhelm our infrastructure.
  • No illegal, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit content. We will suspend accounts for serious violations.
  • No reselling our AI output (e.g. generated passages, corrections) as a paid product or service.
  • No automatic refunds for confirmed crypto payments — but we do review individual cases via Support.

What this licence covers

Each LinguaDig surface, with the specific rights and limits that apply when you use it.

Reading practice

Generate, read, highlight, share passages. AI-generated text is yours to use for personal learning. Don't republish it commercially without permission.

Writing & Correct

Submit essays, journals, and IELTS/TOEFL/PTE responses. The corrections are part of your account; share them, export them, keep them.

Speaking practice

Record responses and get pronunciation + fluency feedback. Speaking quotas are subject to a fair-use policy on Free / Pro plans.

Video lessons

Watch curated videos or paste any YouTube link. We do not host or relicense YouTube content; you watch it under YouTube's own terms.

Reviews & flashcards

Create, edit, organise, and review flashcards. Export Anki decks any time — your reviews and SR schedule are 100% yours.

Subscriptions

Free, Pro, and Max plans with monthly or yearly billing. Quotas reset monthly. 5-day free trial at signup, no card required.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using LinguaDig ("the Service", "we", "us", "our") you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy — both apply to every part of your use of LinguaDig.

This is version 2026-05-v1.0, effective 2026-05-05. Once a version has been agreed to by a user it cannot be altered — substantive changes are published as a new version and you'll be asked to review and re-agree.

2. Eligibility & your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old. We adopt the strictest applicable threshold globally (some jurisdictions allow 13; the EU default under GDPR Art. 8 is 16; we apply 16 to everyone).
  • You provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • One subscription is for one person. You may not share or resell access.
  • If you are using LinguaDig on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3. The service

LinguaDig is an AI-powered English learning platform offering Reading practice, Writing & Correct, Speaking practice, Video lessons, Source Studio (file/URL/text uploads), spaced-repetition reviews, idioms library, challenges, leaderboards, and personalised analytics. We may add, change, deprecate, or remove features at any time, with reasonable notice for material changes.

4. Acceptable use & prohibited content

You agree not to use the Service to upload, generate, store, share, or transmit:

  • Malware — viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or any code designed to harm, disable, or gain unauthorised access to systems or data.
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance. We report suspected CSAM to the relevant authorities (NCMEC in the US, INHOPE network elsewhere) as required by law.
  • Terrorist content — content covered by EU Regulation 2021/784 or US 18 U.S.C. §2339 (incitement, recruitment, or instruction for terrorism).
  • Hate speech & harassment — content that incites violence or discrimination against persons based on protected characteristics, or content used to harass an individual.
  • Copyright or trademark infringement — third-party material you do not own or have permission to use.
  • Privacy violations — personal data of third parties shared without their consent (doxing, leaks, intimate imagery without consent).
  • Deceptive content — impersonation, deepfakes designed to mislead, manufactured evidence, fraudulent schemes.
  • Export-controlled material — content that violates EU dual-use export rules, US ITAR/EAR, or analogous regimes.
  • Sexually explicit content — LinguaDig is a learning platform; we don't host adult material.
  • Spam & abuse of infrastructure — reverse engineering, automated scraping at scale, denial-of-service attempts, credential stuffing, or evasion of rate limits.
  • Resale of AI output — you may not resell or sublicense AI-generated material from LinguaDig as a paid product or service.

You warrant you will not upload the above. We do not pro-actively monitor every upload, and listing categories here does not imply detection — it sets the contract you accept by uploading.

5. Your uploads & warranties

This is the contract you accept every time you upload a file, paste a URL, record audio, submit text, or otherwise add content to the Service. The four warranties below are the canonical text that the in-app upload consent dialog cites verbatim — read them carefully.

When you upload, you confirm —

  1. 1. I have the rights to upload this content.

I confirm I own the content I am uploading, OR I have all necessary rights, licences, consents, and permissions to upload it for personal study on LinguaDig.

  2. 2. The content is not malicious or illegal.

The content does not contain malware, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), terrorist content, content that infringes a third party’s intellectual property or privacy rights, or content that violates EU/UK/US export controls or other applicable law.

  3. 3. I will follow LinguaDig’s rules.

I will use the upload only for lawful personal learning, in line with the Acceptable Use rules in the Terms of Service, and I understand LinguaDig may remove content that breaches these rules.

  4. 4. I accept responsibility and will indemnify LinguaDig.

I accept full responsibility for the content I upload and agree to indemnify LinguaDig and its sub-processors against third-party claims arising from my upload (e.g. copyright takedowns, privacy complaints), to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Your licence to us

By uploading content, you grant LinguaDig a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, royalty-free licence to store, transmit, process, transcribe, summarise, analyse, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not acquire ownership of your uploads. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

If you publish content via a "Share with the community" surface, that is a second, separate consent captured at the share gate — it is not granted under §5.

Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LinguaDig and its sub-processors against any third-party claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, fine, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your breach of warranties 1–4 above, (b) content you upload that infringes a third party's IP, privacy, or other rights, or (c) your violation of applicable law in connection with your uploads.

6. AI-generated outputs

Reading passages, exercises, flashcard content, writing feedback, speaking analysis, summaries, transcripts, translations, and any other AI-generated material on LinguaDig are produced by AI models and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. They are learning aids, not authoritative sources.

  • No warranty. We do not warrant that AI output is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose.
  • No professional advice. AI output is not medical, legal, financial, tax, immigration, safety, or other professional advice. Verify any safety-critical or legally significant statement with a qualified professional before relying on it.
  • Verify before use. If you use AI output in your own writing, exam, or any external context, you are responsible for checking accuracy and attributing as appropriate.
  • Personal use only. You may use AI output for personal learning. You may not resell it as a paid product or claim it as professionally certified material.

7. IP rights & licence

You retain full ownership of the flashcards, essays, journal entries, recordings, highlights, notes, and any other content you create on LinguaDig. The licence you grant us in §5 is the only right we hold in your content, and it exists solely to operate the Service for you.

LinguaDig owns the Service software, design, brand, and all platform-generated content (system prompts, curated samples, marketing materials). We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service in line with these Terms.

You can export your content any time (Profile → Export) and delete it any time (Profile → Reset or Delete account).

For our full IP & takedown policy — including DMCA §512 notice/counter-notice procedure, EU AI-Act disclosures, and AI-output ownership — see our Copyright & IP Policy.

8. Subscriptions & billing

Plans & quotas

  • Free — unrestricted regular practice; capped quotas on AI exam attempts (IELTS / TOEFL / PTE) and Video lessons.
  • Pro — higher exam-attempt quotas, more video lessons, voice-clone access.
  • Max — the highest exam-attempt quotas and video volume.

Quotas reset on the first day of each calendar month for both Monthly and Yearly subscribers. Active prices and quota tables are shown on the Pricing page; the values there govern the agreement.

Crypto payments via NOWPayments

  • Pricing is set in USD; NOWPayments converts to your chosen cryptocurrency at checkout.
  • You complete payment on NOWPayments' secure interface — we never see your wallet, keys, or seed phrase.
  • On-chain confirmation may take 10–60 minutes; during this window your subscription appears as pending.
  • Once confirmed, your subscription becomes active immediately for the chosen period (Monthly = 30 days, Yearly = 365 days).
  • Crypto transactions are irreversible by network design. Be sure of the amount and the network before confirming.

You can review every payment-related event from your Subscription page at any time. New accounts receive a 5-day free trial with unrestricted access; no card or wallet required.

9. Refunds & right of withdrawal

Because crypto transactions are irreversible by network design, LinguaDig does not offer automatic refunds. We will, however, review individual cases (e.g. duplicate payments, technical failures) via Support and resolve them fairly. Subscriptions cancelled mid-period are not pro-rated; access continues until the end of the current period.

EU/UK consumer 14-day right of withdrawal. If you are an EU or UK consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU (and its UK implementation) from the day your subscription begins. By starting to use a digital service immediately upon purchase, you expressly request the supply to begin within the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed; up to that point you may withdraw by emailing billing@linguadig.app.

10. Illegal-content notice and action (DMCA & EU DSA)

DMCA §512 safe harbour (US)

LinguaDig qualifies as an online service provider under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512) and complies with its notice-and-takedown procedure. If you believe content on LinguaDig infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice that includes:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the rights-holder or authorised agent.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • Identification of the material to be removed (URL or row identifier).
  • Your contact information (address, phone, email).
  • A good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorised to act for the rights-holder.

Designated DMCA agent: dmca@linguadig.app. We will action valid notices and provide a counter-notice path to the original uploader at the same address (DMCA §512(g) — 10-business-day reinstatement window).

EU Digital Services Act Art. 16 (illegal content)

Under EU Regulation 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act), any individual or entity may notify us of content they consider illegal under EU or member-state law. Send a notice to illegal-content@linguadig.app including:

  • The exact location of the content (URL).
  • An explanation of why you consider it illegal.
  • Your name and email (anonymous notices accepted for content involving Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU).
  • A good-faith declaration that the information is accurate and complete.

We acknowledge receipt without undue delay and notify both you and the uploader of our decision with a statement of reasons (DSA Art. 17). The detailed notice form will live at the in-app endpoint introduced in a follow-up release; until then, the email addresses above are the canonical channel.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that receive 3 or more valid takedown notices within 12 months are subject to suspension or termination, in line with DMCA §512(i). We retain a hash (not the content itself) of removed material to prevent re-upload.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, breach the law, or pose a risk to the platform — typically with notice, but immediately for serious violations (CSAM, malware, fraud, repeat infringement).

On termination, your access ends and your data is removed in line with the retention rules in our Privacy Policy (§10).

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LinguaDig disclaims all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI output, non-infringement, and uninterrupted operation. We do not guarantee that AI providers will always be available or that the Service will be free from errors.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LinguaDig's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid LinguaDig in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption.

Severability & consumer protections. Some jurisdictions (notably several EU member states and certain US states) do not allow exclusions or limitations for consumer claims, gross negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If any clause in this section is held unenforceable, the remaining clauses remain in full force.

14. Governing law, jurisdiction & arbitration

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the consumer-protection carve-out below, disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of England & Wales.

EU / UK consumers. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may bring claims in the courts of your country of residence, and mandatory consumer-protection laws of that country apply notwithstanding this section. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

US arbitration (US users only). If you reside in the United States, you and LinguaDig agree to resolve disputes by individual binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, seated in Delaware, with judgment entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. Class actions are waived. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@linguadig.app within 30 days of accepting these Terms; opting out does not affect any other provision. Arbitration does not apply to small-claims actions (you may bring qualifying claims in small-claims court) or to injunctive relief for IP infringement.

This arbitration clause is scoped to US users only and does not apply to consumers outside the United States.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. Each version is immutable once published; substantive changes ship as a new version with a new effective date and bumped version number.

  • Patch changes (typo, link fix, no change in legal meaning) — published silently; no re-agreement required.
  • Substantive changes — surfaced via an in-app banner before they take effect, with a 14-day review window for EU/UK consumers. You'll be asked to review and re-agree before your next upload.
