🇬🇧 Step-by-Step: PTE 2026 — Seven Tasks Scored 10–90
① Open "PTE Speaking" from the Speak menu. PTE Speaking was redesigned in 2026 — there are now SEVEN task types in the official set: Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Re-tell Lecture, Answer Short Question, Respond to a Situation (NEW), and Summarize Group Discussion (NEW). ② Two set modes are available: PTE 2026 Full Set (all 7 tasks · ~25 min) or Quick Set (5 classic tasks · ~15 min). Or drill any single task type on its own from the new Practice Hub at /speak/practice. ③ Pick a task → AI generates a fresh stimulus and the official prep + recording timings appear at the top. ④ Read Aloud / Describe Image / Re-tell Lecture include a preparation countdown — use it to scan the visual or plan your response. ⑤ Repeat Sentence / Answer Short Question / Re-tell Lecture play audio first; recording starts the moment the stimulus audio ends. ⑥ When the recording timer hits 0 the clip uploads automatically — no need to press stop. ⑦ Whisper transcribes your speech, then GPT scores you against the official PTE rubrics: Content, Pronunciation, Oral Fluency, plus a task-specific deterministic check (e.g. word-overlap on Read Aloud, speaker coverage on Summarize Group Discussion). ⑧ Results: a scaled 10–90 score with per-rubric bars, your transcript, sentence-level "What to fix" errors, and bilingual improvement tips. ⑨ Use "Try again" to retry the same task, "Continue" to advance through a set, "Download PDF" for a one-page report, or "Write this up" to convert your spoken response into a written submission. ⑩ Tip: see the dedicated guide sections for Respond to a Situation, Summarize Group Discussion and the Practice Hub for the full how-to on the new flows.
